ART has a community
The mission of the Plains Art Guild is to create an environment that promotes, nurtures, and supports the arts in our community and supporting counties. The Plains Art Guild develops relationships between artists, organizations and the community through a Public Art Program, and development of various educational opportunities through grant and loan programs. The Plains Art Guild is supported by the Colorado Council on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, numerous individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Other participating counties in the Plains Art Guild are Cheyenne, Kit Carson, and Lincoln.

Off The Beaten Trail
History is alive and kicking on Colorado's Central Plains, where there's always something interesting to see and do. You can tour our museums and National State Register Historic Sites and shop for treasures in our antique shops. Many of our historic attractions feature a variety of activities for Plains explorers. Elizabeth's Section House, pictured, is a historic building dating back to the county's early days. The Elbert County Museum building is an exhibit unto itself, and represents the varied and exciting history of Elbert County. When you're ready to take a break, theres plenty of fresh air and places to put your feet up with a cold drink. For more information on geocaching and other tourist attractions throughout Elbert County and the surrounding Colorado Central Plains, please visit the "Our Journey" page, operated by the East Central Council of Governments.
